We adhere to an "Educational Athletics" philosophy in the Hamburg Central School District. Thus, it is the primary objective of the interscholastic athletic program to use athletics as a unique educational vehicle which fosters physical, mental, social, and emotional growth among those who participate.

We recognize and appreciate the character building values of athletic participation; such as commitment, responsibility, unselfishness, work ethic, and facing adversity in a healthy manner. The success of our program is largely based upon the ability of each student athlete to gain a positive and valuable experience which transforms their attitudes as they transition into their next life challenge.

Striving and planning to win is important but is secondary to the educational and character development a student-athlete can develop through athletic participation.

The HAMBURG BULLDOGS acrostic to the right was created a group of graduating Senior athletes who feel these attributes best exemplify a HHS student athlete.
