Welcome to kindergarten!!  I am so excited to be starting a brand new year in kindergarten at CAS. I am looking forward to seeing some of my old friends as well as making some new ones!  The following information will provide some helpful details of our classroom.

Attendance:  Attendance is taken daily at 9:05 a.m.  If your child is absent, please call Mrs. Ehlers, the school nurse, at 646-3373.  Please send a written excuse when your child returns to school.  Tardiness also requires a written excuse.

Morning Arrival:  All children either enter the school through the front doors at 8:50 or at the back door (round-a-bout) if dropped off in a car.  Students arriving by bus will be met by a teacher or aide and escorted to their classroom.  Please be aware that in order to ensure safety and security, our school has a badge-pass policy. Please bring your drivers license with you when you come in to the building.  It will be scanned to keep everyone safe.
Supplies:  Your child will need a backpack to carry his or her lunch, folder and books.  Crayons, scissors, glue sticks etc. will be kept in each child's pencil pack in his or her cubby.  Please remember to send your child's "Take Home" folder to school each day and check it each night for notes, permission slips, homework, etc.  Anything you want me to see can be placed in the folder.  Sneakers are required to play on the playground and for gym.  If your child wears any other foot-wear to school, please put their sneakers in their backpacks every day.
Lunch:  Our scheduled lunchtime is from 11:55-12:25.  Children may buy lunch from the cafeteria for $2.35 daily.  Lunch can be pre-paid if this is more convenient.  Milk purchased without a lunch is 50 cents.  Please send all lunch money in a labeled Ziplock bag.
Snack:  We will have a snack break each morning.  Please send a healthy snack.  We have students in our class that have peanut allergies.  Therefore snacks eaten in our room cannot contain nuts of any kind. I will always have extra snacks on hand for children who forget their snacks at any time.
Other:  We do celebrate birthdays in our classroom.  Feel free to send in a treat for your child's birthday.  Since we are a nut-free classroom, any treats sent in cannot contain peanut-butter or nuts of any kind.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year working with you and your children.  Feel free to contact me anytime you have any questions or concerns.  My information is listed above!!
