MAKING THE TEAM
We will be limiting the number of players on the football team to around 50 this year. Some players that were on the team last year may not be on the team this year. We believe that this number will help us reach all kids on a more individual basis. It will also help protect kids that are not ready for football from a safety standpoint. Tryouts will most likely take place on August 29, 30, 31 (time to be determined). We will begin regular practice immediately following tryouts. We practice everyday except Sundays until games start. Once games start we practice on all school days. If you miss a practice you will be a day behind the rest of the kids. This is a big deal. Helmets and pads are added on certain days. If you do not have the number of practice days as the rest of the team you will not be in full pads when everyone else is. It may also lead you to be ineligible for scrimmages and games.
***** TRYOUTS/SEASON, May start on August 26th. Section 6 has not officially stated the start date******
COMMUNICATION
I will use google classroom as our main form of communication. Important dates and information will be posted. It is the athlete’s responsibility to check their school email, daily, for google classroom updates and relay this information to their parent/guardian. Parents/guardians can be invited by their kids and receive daily or weekly email summaries. The passcode to join our google classroom is– eohlj24. If you have a question about football, please, have your son show you the google classroom first. I will also send a weekly email to parents, on Fridays, with plans for the upcoming week.
***Optional Summer Conditioning, Weight Training and Agility will be offered through the Hamburg School District Summer Program. All information needed to register can be found on our google classroom.
*** MANDATORY SUMMER PRACTICE
AUGUST 29, 30, 31 (TRYOUTS)
September 2, 3
** Possible start date of August 26th
ONCE SCHOOL STARTS
We will practice from 3:00-5:00 on school days. At school dismissal athletes will report to the dog pound (HMS CAFE). This is an after school study hall primarily for sports. Around 2:50pm one of the coaches will release the athletes from the dog pound. We will gear up in the mezz gym and make our way to the field. We will be done on the field at 5:00. We will then go back to the mezz gym to change and store our equipment. Athletes will be ready for pick up by 5:15. Pick up occurs at the HMS cafeteria doors. The coaching staff really appreciates kids being picked up on time.

PLAY TIME
A Team (Purple Team) vs. B Team (White Team)
Our top 20-25 players will be considered the purple team. All other players will be considered the white team. Purple team players should expect to play during the first 4 quarters of our Wednesday games, we will have 7. White team players should expect to play during the 5th quarter of our Wednesday games or when the score is lopsided. We will also try to schedule 4 white team games. Most likely on Saturday mornings. Please understand that it is very rare for a 7th grader to start on the Purple Team. We typically have 0-3 athletes that do. The vast majority of 7th graders will find playing time during White Team quarters and games.
Safety
Football is an aggressive game. Contact is expected on every play. We will do our best to match players of similar skill up in practice. During a game we do not have this option. This is why it is necessary to have a purple/white team.
All players will need to purchase the following equipment
Integrated Football Pants (Black). Must include belt, hip pads, thigh pads, knee pads, tail pad. Make certain to leave all tags on pants until you are certain you have made the team
Cup
Mouthguard
Cleats
Water Bottle
* Helmets, Shoulder pads, Jerseys will be supplied by the school district
GAME SCHEDULE
