Decisions about class placements for next year will take place in the final days of school. Many variables are closely examined for each and every child. For example, students’ learning styles, need for structure, peer relationships, and need for more support or more challenge in different subject areas, and class chemistry are all considered. If you feel that there are extenuating circumstances that the school should be aware of, please notify your child's teacher or our principal, Mrs. Bennett, in a letter describing those. As always, requests for specific teachers cannot be accommodated, so please do not request a teacher by name. Letters will be sent home in August notifying you of your child’s placement for the 2019 – 2020 school year.
The AES Learning Plan invites teachers to direct and pursue their own learning paths to enhancing modern learning in an environment in which students make their learning visible to their teachers, peers, and parents and for which they invest in and celebrate their own growth and learning.
Strategic Priority One: Provide outstanding learning experiences for students and for staff so that students are inspired and empowered to become critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, and productive collaborators.
Commitment #3: Assure our use of time benefits student learning and promotes teacher collaboration.
Commitment #4: Focus professional learning on increasing the capacity of each adult to help students think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, and collaborate productively.
