Oscar Wilde's classic comedy "The Importance of Being Earnest" will be presented by the Hamburg High School Drama Club on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. in the school auditorium, 4111 Legion Dr. The deadline for patron/mail orders is Friday, March 28. Tickets will be sold at the High School service desk as of March 17 from 3-6 p.m., weekdays. The cost is $8, adults; $4, students.
Hamburg High School students have the opportunity to build their resume with national credentials by enrolling in the Hamburg Academy of Finance (AOF). This three-year program, which offers students courses and opportunities that develop their business skills and knowledge of the financial industry, is now affiliated with the National Academy Foundation. Applications are being accepted from freshmen until April 23 for Fall 2014.
Applications are available for Hamburg High School freshmen who wish to be in the inaugural class of the new Health Science Academy. The academy will be a three-year "school-within-a-school" program with courses and experiences that prepare students for careers in the health and medical professions. Interested freshmen must complete the application and essay, as well as solicit two teacher recommendations. The deadline is April 23.
