Evaluating Web Resources: be sure to encourage your students to evaluate the accuracy of their sources. Just because it is “on the net” does not mean the information is correct! This page provides helpful hints for evaluating Web sites.
       
Internet Search Engines: identifies a selection of Internet resource and image search tools.
 
Kathy Schrock’s Guide for Educators (Discovery School): a categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated often to include the best sites for teaching and learning.
 
New York State Education Department’s Teacher Resources: provides links to a wide variety of resources and information useful to teachers in NYS.
 
New York State Common Core Learning Standards: learning standards, assessments, publications and resources for the core subjects.

Southtown Teachers’ Center
: provides a description of its services, a course catalog and calendar, and links to useful resources for teachers in Southtowns school districts.
 
Teachers.Net: a searchable site that provides a multitude of resources, including lesson plans and curricular materials, job postings, news articles, upcoming meetings, and much more.
 
Video on Demand: over 1,400 digital videos and 15,000 digital video clips for every subject and every grade. The site follows the NYS Standards for Learning and includes lesson plans and tests for teachers to easily follow. Enter ny.hamburghs for username and wned for password.
 
Western New York Regional Information Center (WNYRIC):  The WNYRIC serves 104 school districts covering 7 counties (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Niagara, Orleans and Steuben) in the western region of New York State.  The centers offer a variety of affordable high quality instructional and administrative services. From designing technology platforms to training personnel, selecting appropriate software programs to providing access to EdNet NY, a statewide telecommunications network, the centers help districts remain on the cutting edge of technology in education.
