I am a Special Education teacher working with students in Level 2 and Level 5 this year. I work with Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Fentzke. My curriculum parallels that of the classroom teacher. My focus is to provide extra support for students with special needs within these classrooms. At times I work in the classroom providing support to the students throughout the lessons. Other times I may pull small groups to create more one on one opportunities for learning.
My duties have been expanded this year to provide interventions to students at level 3-5. These interventions may consist of math facts, sight word practice, reading fluency or comprehension. I will be available to teachers at these levels to assist with behavior interventions as well.
My position gives me the opportunity to teach, practice, and reinforce good work habits, organizational skills, social skills, and study skills. I really enjoy working at these levels. The level 2/5students are full of enthusiasm and energy.
