All eyes were on the sky as an Erie County Sheriff’s Department helicopter landed on the grounds of Charlotte Avenue Elementary School on June 17. The Sheriff’s Department was at Charlotte as part of its service to the community to raise awareness of living a healthy lifestyle and staying drug-free. |
Hamburg Central has been named to Business First’s 2013 honor roll of outstanding school districts. The newspaper ranks Hamburg as #10 out of 97 school districts in WNY based on four years of state test data. The district moved up two notches from last year. Hamburg has achieved honor roll status for 20 out of 21 years.
Go, Bulldogs! Hamburg is in second place on Business First’s annual ranking of the best high school sports programs in the eight-county Western New York region. The designation is based on athletic performance in 18 team sports over a four-year span. Hamburg has taken 12 sectional championships since 2009.
The monthly bottle/can drive to help support Hamburg High School athletics will continue over the summer and through the 2013-14 school year on select Saturdays. The next drop-off date is July 6 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Hamburg High School, 4111 Legion Dr. Clean, refundable cans and bottles will be accepted.
