• We will be introducing our students to lead up games to the fast paced sport of Volleball in the second half of our school year.  We are hoping to teach our students a game where hand-eye coordination along with power (jumping and striking) are key ingredients to a fun game.  We will use lead up games where serving, catching, setting, spiking, and the occasional block is part of the fun of the game.  Volleyball is a sport that is pretty popular in the Hamburg School District.  It is also a sport that many students can learn because it is a great lifetime sport that our students can play well into their adult years.  One interesting part of WNY's (and Hamburg's) rich volleyball history.  WNY has one player who is currently on the men's National team that competed in the 2012 Olympics.  His name is Matt Anderson.  When Matt was in high school, he competed with four Hamburg players and finished 4th nationally at the USA volleyball Junior Nationals before following his dream of being an olympian!!  Check out this web page soon for links for places to get equipment, places to play, camps, and youth organizations that promote the sport of volleyball.
