My name is Carol DeLellis and I am the Occupational Therapist at BVS.The students who receive therapy during their school day usually have fine motor and/or gross motor deficits, which are preventing them from performing classroom activities as, needed. Many games and activities are geared toward strengthening the upper extremities for increased control and coordination. Some students also have sensory integration difficulties, which cause the student to have a decreased capacity to focus during classroom instruction.Sensory integration therapy is important for regulation of the students sensory system.A student may have an overactive or an under active sensory system and this is treated accordingly upon evaluation. If you have any questions about the treatment your child is receiving, please contact me at school. My email is email@example.com. Thank you!
