Enhancing Education through Technology (EETT) Grant
NYSED has awarded Erie 1 BOCES another Enhancing Education through Technology (EETT) Grant. This next round of the competitive portion of Title IID, submitted on behalf of its 20 component districts and the non]public schools within their boundaries, is a comprehensive program focused on Leadership and System Change through Technology Innovation. Building on the knowledge, feedback and successes stemming from the previous (2007-2009) EETT Grant Program, the new Erie 1 BOCES program will concentrate on developing the leadership qualities of administrators and other educational leaders on a differentiated basis.
The grant will focus on the following goals:
- Goal #1: to build capacity for educational leaders, specifically district and building level administrators, to adopt and advocate effective technology integration and 21st century school reform.
- Goal #2: to build the capacity of instructional leaders to develop and/or support systemic models of professional development and act as turnkey trainers who support effective technology and 21st century skills integration.
- Goal #3: to build the capacity of teachers to create and disseminate high quality learning experiences aligned to NY State Standards and 21st Century Skills.
By focusing the grantfs efforts on developing technology proficiencies, implementing 21st century learning environments, and identifying leadership qualities of administrators and teacher leaders, the EETT grant will build critical mass, achieve system change, and positively impact student achievement.
