Family Reading Night was a success!

We had another incredibly successful District-Wide Family Reading Night.  It could not have happened without a LOT of people contributing in a lot of different areas.  Including all those here to work or volunteer, it looks like we had almost 500 people in attendance Friday night!

After our guest speaker, families were invited to participate in 15 different stations, including a book swap, sphero robots, Minecraft coding, Breakout boxes and African drumming, exploring musical Makerspaces with two public librarians, and singing karaoke!  Live music was provided by HMS students. 250 earbuds were given away, over 600 treats were consumed and 16 amazing door prizes were raffled off. Hundreds of books were swapped or purchased, and we were able to raise about $155 for Buffalo's Music is Art.

This event would not have been successful without the efforts of MANY people... the HMS FRN Committee, the HCSD Librarians, the generous HMS PTSA, teachers and staff from all the buildings, administration, custodians, volunteers, parents, students, businesses that donated, families that attended... the list is quite long.  Thanks to everyone that helped in some fashion.  Your efforts are appreciated!
