SENIORS: As you are starting your final year at Hamburg High School, the Counseling Center would like to outline our procedure for submitting college applications.PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING COLLEGE APPLICATIONSWhen you have completed an application that needs an official transcript, bring in all your COMPLETED materials, including essays, recommendations from outside sources, and application fee in the form of a check or money order to the Counseling Center at least 5 school days before it needs to be mailed. You will then fill out a transcript request form complete with college address, and turn it in with your application. If you need a teacher to write a recommendation for you, please give them two weeks notice and supply them with a stamped addressed envelope to mail it in.Teacher recommendations are only brought to the Counseling Center if the application specifically states that it must be mailed with the application. In such cases be sure to note on the transcript request form who we should be expecting the recommendation(s) from so we don't mail an application without it. In this case, you must be sure the teachers get it to us on time.IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE AWARE OF DEADLINE DATES TO ALLOW THE 5 WORKING DAYS NECESSARY FOR PROCESSING!Keep in mind that the Counseling Center is closed during Thanksgiving, Winter Recess, Mid-Winter Recess and Spring Recess breaks as well as other holidays that you are not in school. Also, snow days, illness etc. can delay processing.Don't wait until the last minute to turn in your applications and transcript requests.Suggestions for requesting Letters of Recommendation
