• What is Occupational Therapy?

    Occupational therapy is a service that helps individuals gain or regain their independence. Occupational Therapy in a school setting is directly related to the students education. The goal for Occupational Therapy in a school based setting is to help the student learn new skills and demonstrate independence throughout all academic settings. 

     

    Occupational Therapist's in a school based setting work on the following:

              *Fine motor skills- using their hands

              *Bilateral Coordination skills- using two hands together

              *Motor Planning

              *Upper body and trunk strength and endurance

              *Eye- hand coordination skills

              *Sensory Processing skills

              *Visual processing skills

              *Self Help Skills and much more.
